Project description

The overall objective of the EASCMF project is to create conditions for setting up a sectoral competence framework for the European automotive sector.

This European Automotive Sector Competence Meta-Framework can in turn serve as the starting point from which the proposed EQF can be applied to, and evaluated from, skilled work in the automotive sector, both by employers and by practitioners planning their career.

EASCMF is a competence framework in the sense that it describes learning outcomes in terms of performance expectations on the part of employers with regard to the employees’ contextualised abilities to act.

Major activities are

  • to deliver a generic overview of available sector-oriented job profiles and qualification profiles,
  • to describe profiles and qualifications in EQF terms specified by sector-oriented competences (thus delivering a first outline of the EASCMF),
  • to initiate  sectoral EQF-based standardisation by suggesting an organisational framework for this purpose (e. g. a CEN workshop), in order to ensure that the development of a full-fledged competence framework continues after the end of the project.
